About the Painting

Crystalline light in warm autumn hues fills this landscape with ethereal color tones. Each brush stroke is alive with immediacy and energy, creating quite an emotional impact when the painting is seen in person.

This painting has been framed in an Open Impressionist frame. These frames are one-of-a-kind, hand carved in the US and hand gilded with 23kt gold leaf. The clay beneath the gold leaf is colored to complement the underpainting color in this oil painting.

The Open Impressionsist frame is a beautiful blend of classic American impressionist frames and contemporary "floater frames," just as Hanson's style is a unique blend of the classic and contemporary. The frame is designed to stand away from the edge of the canvas, leaving a 1/4" gap around the painting, which allows you to experience every brush stroke on the canvas. This "open" style of framing gives the painting room to expand and fill the eye, without losing any of the vivid color or delicate motion of the brush strokes.

Erin Hanson ArtistERIN HANSON has been painting in oils since she was 8 years old. As a young artist, she worked at a mural studio creating 40-foot-tall paintings on canvas, while selling art commissions on the side. After getting a degree in Bioengineering from UC Berkeley, Erin became a rock climber at Red Rock Canyon, Nevada. Inspired by the colorful scenery she was climbing, she decided to paint one painting every week for the rest of her life. She has stuck to that decision ever since, becoming one of the most prolific artists in history. Erin Hanson's style is known as "Open Impressionism" and is now taught in art schools worldwide. With thousands of collectors eagerly anticipating her work and millions of followers online, Hanson has become an iconic, driving force in the rebirth of contemporary impressionism.
