About the Painting

This painting was inspired by the beautiful scenery at Adelaida Winery in Paso Robles, California. The early morning light filtered through the oak leaves and glittered on the summer gold grasses beneath the oaks. The brush strokes in this painting are loose and paintery, an expressionistic celebration of color and light.

This painting will be included in The Orange Show at The Erin Hanson Gallery during the month of October. The piece is available for purchase now, but your painting will be shipped at the end of the exhibition.

This painting has been framed in an Open Impressionist frame. These frames are one-of-a-kind, hand carved in the US and hand-gilded with 23kt gold leaf. Open Impressionsist frames are a beautiful blend of classic American impressionist frames and contemporary "floater frames," just as my painting style is a unique blend of the classic and contemporary. The frame is designed to stand away from the edge of the canvas, leaving a 1/4" gap around the painting.

Erin Hanson ArtistERIN HANSON has been painting in oils since she was 8 years old. As a young artist, she worked at a mural studio creating 40-foot-tall paintings on canvas, while selling art commissions on the side. After getting a degree in Bioengineering from UC Berkeley, Erin became a rock climber at Red Rock Canyon, Nevada. Inspired by the colorful scenery she was climbing, she decided to paint one painting every week for the rest of her life. She has stuck to that decision ever since, becoming one of the most prolific artists in history. Erin Hanson's style is known as "Open Impressionism" and is now taught in art schools worldwide. With thousands of collectors eagerly anticipating her work and millions of followers online, Hanson has become an iconic, driving force in the rebirth of contemporary impressionism.
