A look at 2024, and what's coming in 2025
Wednesday, January 15, 2025
With 2024 now in the rearview mirror, we want to take a moment to explore Erin Hanson's 365 days of exploration, growth, and creativity during the past year. Last year, Erin traveled to distant lands, created new enchanting works, and more. All in all, it was a year full of inspiring moments. 2025 looks like it will be equally joyful and inspirational, and we can’t wait to share it with you!
A Cherry Blossom Dream in Japan
Erin Hanson kicked off 2024 with a journey to Japan, where she experienced the breathtaking beauty of cherry blossoms in full bloom. Surrounded by soft pinks, delicate sakura petals, and peaceful Japanese gardens and temples, Erin was inspired to bring a new depth to her work. You can see the gentle, fleeting nature of the blossoms in her recent Japan pieces, which are filled with pastel hues and a sense of quiet beauty.

Walking in the Footsteps of Masters in France
Next, Erin set off for France, where she retraced the paths of two of the world’s most famous artists—Claude Monet and Vincent van Gogh. From the vibrant fields of Provence to the iconic Seine River, Erin was inspired by the same landscapes that sparked these great artists’ imaginations. The shimmering waters, golden fields, and beautiful light of France have made their way into Erin’s paintings, blending her style with the timeless beauty of French Impressionism.
We are excited to share that Erin Hanson will return to Europe in the fall of 2026. She will have a chance to continue exploring the landscapes and light that once inspired van Gogh through his home country of the Netherlands. The trip will also take her through Switzerland, Germany, and Italy. Part of this journey will again be aboard Ama Waterways, where fans and collectors are invited to join her. Please let us know if you would like to be connected with our excellent travel agent, Diana.
"Impressions of the Seine" Collection
One of the highlights of 2024 was the release of Erin’s Impressions of the Seine collection. This series brings to life many familiar views and historically relevant sights with bold brushstrokes and vibrant colors, evoking the movement and magic of the iconic waterway. The collection has been met with so much love, and we’re thrilled to see how it’s resonated with collectors and art lovers alike.

Looking Ahead to 2025
Looking ahead to the new year, Erin will be returning to the stunning landscapes of the Pacific Northwest. From misty forests to rugged coastlines, there’s so much natural beauty to explore right at home. And, of course, she’ll continue to paint from last year’s photo expeditions, expanding on the inspiration she’s drawn from her adventures through France and Japan.
Erin has decided on the theme that her next epic 2025 collection release will feature enormous paintings. She’s throwing around ideas for the name of this show, and you can write in to us at info@erinhanson.com to share ideas for a show title. This show will be released at The Erin Hanson Gallery this summer (2025) in McMinnville, Oregon.
Also, Erin is in the planning stages of her Artist Bootcamp program, where she will teach artists to learn to paint the way they always wanted to paint--and make a living doing it. Erin's goal is to create a new Renaissance of the arts by erasing the "starving artist" paradigm and leading a new generation of artists who choose painting as a career, not just a hobby.

ERIN HANSON has been painting in oils since she was 8 years old. As a young artist, she worked at a mural studio creating 40-foot-tall paintings on canvas, while selling art commissions on the side. After getting a degree in Bioengineering from UC Berkeley, Erin became a rock climber at Red Rock Canyon, Nevada. Inspired by the colorful scenery she was climbing, she decided to paint one painting every week for the rest of her life. She has stuck to that decision ever since, becoming one of the most prolific artists in history. Erin Hanson's style is known as "Open Impressionism" and is now taught in art schools worldwide. With thousands of collectors eagerly anticipating her work and millions of followers online, Hanson has become an iconic, driving force in the rebirth of contemporary impressionism.

The California Super Bloom California Impressionist Captures the Natural Phenomena Friday, October 6, 2017 California experienced a severe drought for several years which finally broke in the winter of 2017 when torrents of rain fell from the sky and turned California the most vivid shade of green we had seen in years. The wildflowers seeds had been waiting latent in the desert floor for several years, multiplying with each year of the drought. When the heavy rains finally arrived, the deserts erupted in a natural phenomena known as the "Super Bloom". Almost overnight the California desert and hills started turning orange, yellow and purple with a Super Bloom of flowers far more abundant than the typical spring bloom. So vibrant and widespread, it was even visible from space. Read More → |
